I will add that his signature Fender Bass is one of the liveliest and most musical instruments I've had the pleasure of playing. RIP to a player who epitomized the bassist's role.

Oh, man... was not expecting this. Did a quick search. Seems to be coming from enough sources that I believe it to be true. RIP Dusty.

Wow, easily one of the most recognizable bassists on the planet.

ZZ Top was the very first concert that I ever attended. I didn’t know much about them going into it, and came out a big fan. They put on one hell of a show.

    He will be greatly missed.

Great 3 piece band. He wasn't fancy but he was steady with his groove. RIP Mr. Hill.

They were just in town a week and a half ago, and I decided to not go. I really regret that now. Dusty proved that sometimes the simplest bass are all you need for a great song!

Nooooo...I watched the live rig video on YouTube just the other day, followed by various takes on Beer Drinkers And Hellraisers. I thought those guys would be playing forever. Dusty and Jordison gone in rapid succession.

RIP :( I really love ZZ Top and what Dusty brought to the band. Definitely one of the bass players that has influenced me.
  19. May you rest in peace, Mr. Hill.
